Shotting Forms

Stick floats: bulk + droppers

• Wagglers: most weight locked at the base

• Avons: bulk down with spaced droppers

• Pole floats: shotting varies by style (strung out, bulked, or tapered)

Can these floats be used with braid or only mono

They work with both, though mono is usually preferred for float fishing due to its stretch and buoyancy. For braid, use a shock leader to protect the float attachments.

Care & Maintenance

How do I look after my floats

• Rinse after use, especially in muddy or brackish water

• Store in a float tube or box to avoid crushing

• Avoid leaving them in direct sunlight for long periods

• If a tip becomes dull, a tiny dab of fluorescent paint restores it

What if a float gets damaged

Minor scratches or chips won’t affect performance. For more serious damage, repairs may be possible depending on the float type.
